Dr Diane (Di) Russell FACE

CEASA Management Committee Member

During twenty years as a leader in ECD, Di completed studies towards a Masters and then a PhD in Aboriginal Education. In addition to this study, and many years as a mainstream teacher, Di has taught Aboriginal students from Reception to Year 12 in both rural and remote parts of the state and supported teachers to work with Aboriginal students. She has presented papers on how to support Aboriginal students in their schooling at numerous conferences across Australia and published in a variety of journals. Di retired from ECD at the end of 2004 and then worked as a consultant in Aboriginal Education and a tutor of Aboriginal students at university studying to become secondary teachers. Di has been a member of the Australian College of Educators (ACE) for many years and Secretary of the State Branch Committee for the last six years. She has recently been awarded a Fellowship for her work in Aboriginal Education, something which remains her passion.
