Retired Associations

The following associations have recently retired. CEASA will continue to offer contact with key people from these associations, so that our knowledge base is not lost.

World Education Forum (WEF)

We have much to be proud of over the achievements of WEF since 1938, many exciting and fond memories and many long lasting changes for the betterment of education in this state. Some would say that the achievements of WEF in SA helped SA education lead others as a consequence of its child centred approach and more enlightened curriculum and methodology. Changes which we believe still influence what happens for children in this state.

Philosophy for Australian Schools (SAAPIC)

SAAPIC is dedicated to the development of sound justificatory reasoning skills and dispositions in students. Sound justificatory reasoning development will benefit students’ studies at school as well as enable them to make well reasoned judgments about important social issues throughout their lives.

Peer Support Foundation of SA (PSFSA)

Since the Peer Support Foundation was formed in 1988 many hundreds of teachers and thousands of young people have benefited from the peer support training provided. Many individuals have actively supported the Foundation over its 23 years, creating a culture in education in SA which actively values peer support programs.

In late 2011 the Peer Support Foundation underwent an exciting transition – becoming part of SYC (Service to Youth Council). SYC has been a Board member of the Foundation since 2006, strongly supporting the Foundation’s mission and purpose. SYC itself began in 1958 and now provides training, employment, alternative education and youth services across SA and Victoria. SYC’s team of professional staff – social workers, clinical psychologists and teachers, is well placed to continue in the footsteps of the Peer Support Foundation, supporting teachers, school counsellors and students to create successful peer support programs in their schools.

All enquiries about the Peer Support Foundation can now be made to:

Emily White, on 08 8405 8540 or email peersupport@syc.net.au
