Apologies for the short notice, but are having a meeting next week to respond to two important AITSL documents. They are:
We invite you as president to attend, or send a representative from your association.
It will be very important to obtain the combined voice of SA teachers and associations, before the documents are made policy.
'New Registration Requirements for Teaching'
Wed 15th August at 6pm at the EDC, Hindmarsh
The Teachers Registration Board will present new registration requirements that will take effect from 1st January 2013. Professional learning will be a new component of registration.
All educators welcome! Bookings essential!

16th May, 2012: 'Schools as Catalysts for Change'
Key educators, in partnership with school leaders, will show how to create sustainable school change through a focus on connecting curriculum, pedagogy and assessment - and using a mentoring/coaching model of professional learning.
Ongoing, professional learning projects in schools will be shared – what they look like, what impact they have had, how the pedagogy explored enables the Australian Curriculum to be implemented in rich and meaningful ways.
This session will support associations and educators in general, in developing this direct professional learning role in schools.

Associations are helping each other develop expertise through CEASA 'Sharing Seminars'. Three associations, EChO, PMA and KMEIA recently shared their expertise on various topics at a recent seminar. This cross-fertilization of ideas has led to new directions for a number of associations.
