| About Us |
AATD, has been a professional body for Teachers of the Deaf since 1935 and we currently represent about 40 Teachers of the Deaf in South Australia. As Teachers of the Deaf we work in a variety of educational settings such as Centres for Hearing Impaired in metro areas, early intervention programs, as Coordinators Hearing Services working with deaf and hearing impaired children in their local schools. We include members from the independent and Catholic sectors and our focus is to work with and support the education of deaf and hearing impaired children and their families. A member receives four internationally referred journals, termly e-bulletins containing information of professional development opportunities and updates of local and national AATD committee planning and decisions, discounts to AATD professional development workshops ( including Visiting Fellow workshops), copies of Competencies for Teachers of the Deaf and policy statements leaflets. There are also informal social and networking opportunities |
