| About Us |
The Australian College of Educators (ACE) is a national professional association for educators founded in 1959 which represents educators across all sectors and systems.
ACE aims to:
- provide a strong national voice for the profession
- promote professional standards of a high order
- recognise excellence in professional practice
- foster the professional learning of educators
- enhance the status of the profession
As a member of ACE you have opportunities to:
- Contribute to an informed advocacy body for the teaching profession
- Attend ACE events and converse with cutting edge presenters
- Receive the Professional Educator, six times a year
- Receive a free copy of Education Review eight times a year
- Gain the right to use the letters MACE as a recognised, professional post-nominal
The SA Branch Committee provides strategic activities for members in the local area and presents a variety of awards (see below). The AW Jones Oration is a major function, held every second year, as is the annual President’s Dinner when major awards are presented.

- Fellowship of the College (nominated locally but judged nationally) - awarded annually to in recognition of a distinctive contribution to the advancement of education
- AW Jones Oration / Medal - awarded every two years (odd years) as a celebration of the contribution of one of the State's most distinguished educators
- Mackillop Oration / Medal - awarded every two years (even years) by the SA Branch of ACE to acknowledge the contribution of a significant educator in this State
- Credit Union SA ACE Yerthoappendi* Award for beginning Aboriginal educators - awarded every two years (odd years); $2,000 to support their ongoing professional development as an educator
- Credit Union SA ACE Professional Development Award for beginning teachers - awarded every two years (even years);$2,000 to support their ongoing professional development as an educator
