Teaching About Other Countries introduces teachers to an extended model designed to assist students to explore what they already know about countries and further develop their understanding of the concept of what a country is. The approach focuses on students discovering what countries have in common and ways in which countries are interdependent yet have their own identities. Teaching About Other Countries looks at countries as political and economic entities offering a useful context for developing geographical skills and concepts. It involves designing and interpreting maps, looking at physical and built features, climate, land use, exploitation of resources, human and economic activity, culture, language, customs and traditions, tourism and symbols of nationalism.

Nicky's World is an illustrated story book for young children from Kindergarten to Year 4/5. It follows a day in the life of a young girl after she opens a parcel that arrives from Germany and asks where this country is. It encourages children to look at different toys, clothing and food to find on a map, the countries the products come from. With some focus on the Asia Pacific region, it is relevant to children in Australian classrooms.
The World feast Game
Ever wondering why half the world's population struggles to survive on US$2 or less a day?
A simulation activity for primary and middle school students, which aims to: (1) illustrate how trading relationships can work for and against different countries in the world; (2) explore relationships between resources of a country and that country's ability to feed its people; and (3) encourage students to question injustices in the world and to analyse the causes.

A simulation game developed especially for the middle-secondary classroom. It is designed to introduce students to some of the issues of economic globalisation using the example of the global automotive industry. Although there is a random element to the game, it is also designed to reflect the real business world. Factories are more expensive to set up and operate in some countries than others; some components are more expensive to produce, and global or local factors (represented in this game by chance cards) also influence production and profits. The game is designed for six players. Alternatively, six teams can play, with each team having either two or three players. One additional player is selected as Banker. The teachers role is to monitor play and read aloud the bonus questions.
