To pursue quality education in Studies of Society and Environment by representing South Australian SASOSE Council member associations, linking them, promoting them and serving them, including collaborative provision of professional development for educators.
SASOSE Council was founded in the 1990s to represent South Australian member associations across all sectors of education in pursuit of quality education in the area of Studies of Society and Environment. It acts as a forum and common meeting ground to provide a collective voice on issues in the SOSE learning area. SASOSE offers an annual conference and promotes professional development for educators run by member associations through sose-news. This online occasional bulletin, run through edna-lists, shares relevant information and resources quickly and conveniently.

SASOSE is currently focused on the changes affecting SOSE educators as the National Curriculum is developed and implemented. We are disseminating information about developments and processes, providing a common meeting ground for discussion, and promoting and providing resources and professional development opportunities through sose-news. To communicate more effectively we are currently developing our own website.
