SAADIE aims to:

a. operate as the peak body for Drama in Education in South Australia
b. promote Drama in education as a valuable and valued part of education.
c. encourage the study and development of Drama in education as a teaching methodology and as an creative and expressive art form.
d. support teachers, students and others interested in Drama in education
e. advocate for Drama education in South Australia and beyond

The South Australian Association for Drama in Education (SAADIE) was one of the first Drama associations established in Australia in the 1970s. It goal is to support the growth of Drama and represent the interests of secondary and primary Drama educators as the peak body for Drama in Education in South Australia.

SAADIE runs in-services for teachers (and some workshops for students) throughout the year culminating in a biennial state conference. Many of our PD activities have a cross-arts focus. Members of SAADIE are also members of Drama Australia  and the International Association for Drama In Education (IDEA) and receive information on advances in drama education though newsletters and magazines; ADEM and the internationally refereed National Journal NJ (formerly the NADIE journal).
