His Excellency Rear Admiral Kevin Scarce AC CSC RANR, Governor of South Australia, and Mrs Liz Scarce welcomed 120 guests to Government House on Wednesday evening 3 April to honour all teachers for their service and commitment to education, and the professional associations for their outstanding support to teachers and the profession at a reception for South Australian teachers.
Invited guests included government and opposition leaders, leaders from the education sectors and other institutions, and presidents and outstanding teachers from over 50 professional education associations in South Australia.
Mr Rick Baldock, president of the peak body of all the associations in SA, The Council of Education Associations of SA, CEASA, thanked His Excellency and Mrs Scarce for recognizing the important work of teachers and their associations in providing a wonderful support structure for teachers and schools.
Awards were presented to past CEASA presidents, Rosemary Sandstrom (1994-2007) and Sue Close (2008-2011) for their dedicated service to CEASA and the profession over the years.
In addition, Rosemary received the CEASA Award for Distinguished Service to the Profession,’ for outstanding leadership in every sphere of education she was involved in, and as a long time dedicated custodian of the profession.
