The Australian National Schools Network (ANSN) is a network of educational groups committed to improving teaching and learning for all Australian students. CEASA is a member of the ANSN.
The 'Protocols' are being used by staff in schools across Australia, as a way to talk professionally about teachers' and students' work, and connect with curriculum frameworks. They have been structured to enhance:
In 2003 the ANSN , DECS Learning to Learn and CEASA held workshops for preschool, primary and secondary educators to learn about the powerful new strategies (Protocols) for reflecting on and developing their pedagogy through focusing on student work. Through studying samples of students' work, participants reflecedt on decisions made about planning, programming and assessing, and explored the underlying assumptions of the learning process in classrooms. Participants returned to their sitesas accredited trainers in the use of these protocols for the benefit of sites and clusters.
Another workshop has been held in Week 1, Term 3 for teachers interested in becoming an accredited trainer. Future workshops will be organised on a needs basis.
For more information on the Protocols and to register interest in any future workshops, contact the CEASA office (phone 08 8463 5875 or email ceasa@ceasa.asn.au) in the first instance.
