||Registrations for the Annual Geography Teachers' Association Conference (24-25 May, EDC Hindmarsh) are now open! Early Bird registrations close Friday 11th May at 6.00 pm.
We are very excited about the revamped line up of workshops and fieldwork activities.
Why attend the GTASA Conference 24-25 May 2018?
2018 brings a new, action-packed format with more time for learning, a full day dedicated to fieldwork, innovative idea sharing, and interstate experts. http://www.gtasa.asn.au/gtasa-annual-conference
Our focus this year is Improving Literacy through Geography to reflect the increasing importance of delivering literacy outcomes through subjects other than English. A FREE copy of the new book Geography Literacy Unlocked by Grant Kleeman will be given away with every ticket purchased. We will also have "teach the teacher" workshops to work through examples of how you can use this in your classroom straight away.
FIELDWORK FRIDAY is our new, full day fieldwork experience. We will be starting the day with a briefing session and introduction to the booklet, topic and methodologies.
Leaving after morning tea, we will be able to go further afield and in more depth than ever before!
The GEOGRAPHY SLAM is a new way of sharing ideas quickly. Short, sharp, and shiny, teachers will share starter activities, games, and thinking strategies to help you invigorate your classroom. Let us know if you have a great activity that you would like to share with us on Thursday - great for those going for HAT or Lead teacher!
